Meeting point: RSPB Coffee Shop (across the road from the car park)
This is an intermediate level workshop designed for photographers who already have a basic level of understanding of camera operations, lenses and exposure. RSPB Arne is a spectacular nature reserve that sits within one of the most bio-diverse square miles in the UK and offers great photographic opportunities across vast expanses of open heathland, old oak woodland and shoreline. We will be taking a new mile-long trail that RSPB have opened exclusively for Purbeck Art Weeks leading to an area of Coombe Heath with magnificent views of the natural landscape and no man-made structures in sight.

Photographic composition for landscapes
Maximising depth-of-field
Light, form and texture
Image detail
Seeing, interpreting and manipulating colour
Introduction to the zone system
Interpreting image histograms
RAW files and exposing to the right
Movement within the scene
Key considerations to ensure image sharpness
Introduction to ND/ND Grad filters and polarisers
Introduction to high dynamic range photography
What you need to bring:
A camera (preferably DSLR) with fully charged battery and memory card.
Any additional lenses that you might have.
A tripod would be very useful but is not essential.
Any lens filters that you may already have.
Comfortable and appropriate shoes and clothing.
A packed lunch/drinks.
Note: This workshop is weather dependant with the reserve day being the 11th of June, 2016 (Workshop timings may vary).

About the tutor:
Rehan teaches camera acquisition for visual effects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is doing a PhD based on his photography practice. He has had a number of successful group and solo exhibitions and his work has been published in print and on the BBC.
